I chose to compare the photo "Dead Troops Talk" with "Flooded Grave." These two Photographs were very interesting due to the fact that they each represented death in an ironic manner. The photograph of flooded grave shows a grave with sea creatures living within the grave. This is very out of the ordinary considering that graves are ment for dead bodies to lay in not living sea creatures. The photograph Dead Troops Talk is very similar to the flooded grave. This photograph shows soldiers that are wounded so badly that they should be dead. However, some of the soldiers are alive and they are acting crazy or rubing their head like they just banged it. Each photograph is staged outdoor and are dark and gloomy however, the soldiers or the flooded grave bring life to the photgraph.

working as an "Art Director"

<img style="float:right; margin:0 0 10px 10px;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://bp0.blogger.com/_Dn4f54NpOPY/RjONTNAnBXI/AAAAAAAAACY/LIragmrmYoo/s320/my+pics.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5058542167516448114" />

Working as an art director was not an easy task. First I had to come up with a interesting idea for the photo shoot. I decided that I wanted an individual to look like they were taking notes in a class. All the notes would be smiley faces to represent happiness being taught in the classroom. Then I had to figure out what kind of lighting I wanted for the photograph. I decided that I wanted one light on the subject to bring focus on the paper that was being written on. As the Art Director I felt like I had to position the photographer to get the exact photograph I wanted. I also had to suggest working with different gels to get a feeling of happiness. In the end I did get the photograph that I wanted for myy spread however, directing a photoshoot is not as easy as it seems.

Working with an Art Director "Lakeytria"

<img style="float:right; margin:0 0 10px 10px;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://bp0.blogger.com/_Dn4f54NpOPY/Ri7aydAnBUI/AAAAAAAAACA/BEOn7H3ibps/s200/happyface.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5057219991899145538" />
<img style="float:right; margin:0 0 10px 10px;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://bp1.blogger.com/_Dn4f54NpOPY/Ri7aytAnBVI/AAAAAAAAACI/CZIN7vmq0jY/s200/happyface1.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5057219996194112850" />
<img style="float:right; margin:0 0 10px 10px;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://bp1.blogger.com/_Dn4f54NpOPY/Ri7aytAnBWI/AAAAAAAAACQ/GVltLoORe_U/s200/happyface3.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5057219996194112866" />

Working as a photographer for Lakeytria was particularly difficult for me as a photographer. Lakeytria had a very interesting idea however, everything would come together when finally photoshoped. As a photographer I thought the shoot was particularly boring as I was taking head on shot of individuals. The only thing I could really play around with is the positioning of the body due to the fact that the heads in the photographs were not going to be utilized. As a photographer I would have liked to play around with the subject a little more.

Working With An Art Director "Dmitri"

<img style="float:right; margin:0 0 10px 10px;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://bp1.blogger.com/_Dn4f54NpOPY/Ri7ZQtAnBQI/AAAAAAAAABg/n0HyujX_27M/s320/dimitri.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5057218312566932738" />

Working with an Art Director on the whole is difficult when you are the photographer. When working with a Art Director a photographer has to take the art directors vision into consideration as well as add their own personality into the photograph. While working with Dmitri there was one very difficult aspect he was the subject being photographed. He directed that particular lighting, background color and what he wanted in the photograph. The photograph session was hard because I wanted to change the angle of the photograph from what he originally wanted which made it harder to get his entire body into the photograph. Every time I adjusted something a shadow would appear within the photograph or a body part would get cropped out. However, at the end of the session we were able to work together to get a perfect picture for the project.

Happiness 101 assignment

I think a cool idea for this assignment would be to photograph one of my classmates holding a smiling mask in front of their face. This is takes us back to the first part of the essay when the students were asked to do things that maike them happy they all did things like get drunk or had sex but what brought them real happiness is when they did something special for someone else. I think holding a happy mask in front of the face will show that.

The other idea that I have is to take two pictures of one of my classmates one would be a depressed look or a frown and the other would be a happy smile. Despite the desruction you see a bunch of young individuals driving along all the destruction in a nice car. All the girls expressions are worried as well as sad. The other interesting thing about this photograph is that the lighting is very bright in comparison to other photographs that are usually dull in lighting to show destruction. It will look very convinsing if put in the right enviornment.

photo of the week

<img style="float:right; margin:0 0 10px 10px;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://bp3.blogger.com/_Dn4f54NpOPY/RhlCoK7oOVI/AAAAAAAAAA4/Qmli_r7WIwk/s320/IMG_6001.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5051141714969377106" />

This photo was taken in class for a project. This is my favorite picture because of the framing of the flower as well as the lighting. I like the depth of field in the picture where the stems are blurry so your eye is focused on the beautiful flower. I like the shades that are casted on the flower it goes nice with the black background. I think this was a very succesfull flower from this weeks project.

life

<img style="float:right; margin:0 0 10px 10px;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://bp2.blogger.com/_Dn4f54NpOPY/Re5Kp9yXE2I/AAAAAAAAAAs/wNtyQE0A3Cw/s320/final+project1.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5039047117895045986" />

this is my second personal photo I took.
